Tire Rotation & Air Pressure
The rear tires/wheels are to be crossed and moved up, and the front tires/wheels are to be moved straight back.
*Always check/adjust vehicle recommended air pressure, especially on vehicles with different front and rear PSI. Use the vehicle door placard or a Tire Guide and not the tire sidewall for recommended cold tire PSI settings.
Road Hazard Warranty
Flynn's Tire offers a limited road hazard adjustment contract which may be purchased at the time of your new tire purchase. This plan is not a warranty nor a guarantee nor a policy of insurance. This plan is a service contract between you (the buyer) and the Flynn's Tire location where you purchased the plan and new tires.
If it is determined by Flynn's Tire that the damaged tire covered by this plan is repairable, Flynn's Tire will make the repair at no cost to the customer. Road hazard damage such as that caused by potholes, nails, glass, and road debris not covered by the manufacturer, not repairable and when such damage is determined by Flynn's Tire to be covered under this plan will be replaced by paying the following percentages of the current selling price of a new tire for up to 3 years from date of purchase or until the tire is worn down to 3/32 tread depth:
- 1st Year — No charge
- 2nd Year — 50%
- 3rd Year — 75%
The customer shall pay a $16.99 minimum replacement fee that covers installation, wheel balance and old tire disposal. Plus, pay the optional road hazard coverage fee of $11.99 for the new tire, and applicable state and federal (FET) taxes.
Winter Tire Guidelines
- If winter tires are installed on the front axle of any vehicle, they must also be installed on the rear axle
- It is recommended that snow tires be applied to all four wheel positions
- If studded winter/snow tires are installed on the rear of any vehicle, it is strongly recommended that they also be installed on the front
- Never apply non-radial snow tires on the rear axle if radial tires are on the front axle unless the vehicle is equipped with duals on the rear axle
- Always apply four winter tires (including if studded) for police pursuit
WARNING! Always demount the tire from the wheel and complete a thorough tire and wheel inspection prior to returning the components to service. Tires must always be properly repaired — improperly repaired tires can fail while in service and may result in an accident causing serious personal injury or death. Only properly trained tire repair technicians should perform these repairs.
Key Precautions
- Repairs are limited to the crown area only — do not repair sidewall or shoulder injuries
- The repair must fill the injury and seal the innerliner — never use only a rubber stem or plug, and never use only a patch
- Repair products and materials used should be from the same manufacturer — never mix products from different repair material manufacturers
- Some “run-flat technology” tires cannot be repaired — consult the tire manufacturer for its repair policy
- Never use any rim that is bent, corroded, cracked or worn
- For speed rated tires, contact the tire manufacturer for its individual repair policy — some manufacturers will void the tire speed rating if the tire has been repaired
Maximum Allowable Injury Size
- Passenger & Light Truck Tires — maximum injury size 1/4″ (6mm)
- Medium & Heavy Truck Tires — maximum injury size 3/8″ (10mm)
Any injury exceeding the maximum allowable injury size will require a section repair to be performed at a Full Service Repair Facility.
Do NOT repair a tire with:
- Injuries greater than 1/4-inch (6mm) in diameter for passenger and LT, 3/8-inch (10mm) for medium truck
- Injuries in the shoulder or sidewall areas, or in a position that would overlap an existing repair
- 2/32-inch (3mm) or less remaining in tread depth
- Bead damage, run-flat conditions, broken or kinked beads
- Weather checking beyond 2/32-inch (3mm) deep
- An existing improper repair, or where a “tire sealant” has been used
The excerpts below are cited from the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association's “Puncture Repair Procedures for Passenger and Light Truck Tires” wall chart, which contains the industry-recommended puncture repair procedures.
- Repairs must be performed by removing the tire from the rim/wheel assembly to perform a complete inspection to assess all damage that may be present. Repairs are limited to the tread area.
- Puncture injury cannot be greater than 1/4-inch (6mm) in diameter. DO NOT make repairs where the injury damage extends into the shoulder/belt edge area OR where the injury extends at an angle into the shoulder area. If there is any question that the injury extends into the shoulder/belt edge area, then the tire must be taken out of service.
- Repairs cannot overlap. A rubber stem, or plug, must be applied to fill the puncture injury and a patch must be applied to seal the innerliner. A common repair unit is a one-piece combination unit with a rubber stem and patch.
- Not all tires can be repaired. Specific repair limits should be based on recommendations or repair policy of the tire manufacturer and/or type of tire service.
- NEVER repair a tire that has an existing, improper repair; the tire must be scrapped.
- NEVER perform an outside-in tire repair or on-the-wheel repair.
Ask your tire service professional if industry repair procedures are followed. Also, some tire manufacturers may have repair limits or restrictions for some tires, such as runflat tires and others.

NOTE: Before replacing tires, ALWAYS refer to and follow the vehicle manufacturer's replacement tire restrictions and recommendations.
The handling, cornering, and braking of a vehicle in snow, ice, slush and similar cold weather conditions are highly dependent on the traction from the tires. The rear tires of any vehicle must have comparable or higher traction capabilities than the front tires to maintain vehicle mobility and control. It is always preferable to apply winter/snow tires to all wheel positions.
- If winter/snow tires are applied to the front axle of any vehicle, winter/snow tires must also be installed on the rear axle. DO NOT apply winter/snow tires only to the front axle — this applies to all passenger and light truck vehicles including front-wheel-drive, 4x4, and all-wheel-drive vehicles.
- If winter/snow tires are installed on the rear axle of any vehicle, it is recommended (but not required) that they also be installed on the front axle.
- Never put non-radial winter/snow tires on the rear if radials are on the front.
- If a vehicle placard specifies speed-rated tires, winter/snow tires of equivalent or greater speed rating must be fitted if the speed capability of the vehicle is to be maintained; a lower speed rating is generally acceptable, but the vehicle speed must be restricted to that of the replacement tire.
- Check local and state regulations about applications or usage of winter/snow tires.
WARNING: Installing winter/snow tires only on the front axle may cause the vehicle to experience adverse handling characteristics. This may result in an accident, which could cause serious injury or death.
Studded winter/snow tires have higher traction qualities under most winter weather conditions. If you sell and/or install studded winter/snow tires, follow the procedures listed below:
- If studded winter/snow tires are installed on the front axle of any vehicle, studded winter/snow tires must also be installed on the rear axle. DO NOT apply studded winter/snow tires only to the front axle.
- If studded winter/snow tires are installed on the rear of any vehicle, it is strongly recommended that they should also be installed on the front. Only if studded winter/snow tires are installed on all wheel positions of a vehicle will optimum handling characteristics be achieved.
- Only new tires should be fitted with studs. Never insert studs in a used tire (even if only slightly used).
- Consult tire manufacturer for correct stud size.
- Check local and state regulations about restrictions on studded winter/snow tire application or use.
WARNING: Installing studded winter/snow tires only on the front axle may cause the vehicle to experience adverse handling characteristics. This may result in an accident, which could cause serious injury or death.
